Merry Christmas

It is now nine days before we depart; out of double digits. Packing is underway and with each day passing I am getting more and more excited (as if I wasn't before.)
I just wanted to wish all readers a Merry Christmas. Feliz Navidad!

Courses

While we are at Fuego Christian College we will be enrolled in 6 courses. These include 2 Spanish courses, Cross Cultural Communications, Anthropology, Intro to Missions, and New Testament Survey. These courses are divided among three colleges: Trinity Western University, Prairie Bible Institute, and Thompson Rivers University. We will obtain credits which are affiliated and transferable to any of these Bible institutions, upon our return.

I, a freshman, at the age of 19 am embarking on the most nerve-racking, yet exciting experience of my lifetime. On January 3rd, 2007, 5:30p.m. at Sea-Tac Airport (Seattle), an America West airplane will be lifting its wheels off the airstrip heading just under 5000 kilometers south, for, parts unknown to me, to the beautiful country of Guatemala. An overnight flight will bring John, Shawn, and I to our new home, which will be home for the following five months. We will live there from January 4th, 2007 until June 1st, 2007, on a two acre campus, leaving behind our families and friends. It will be the longest time away from home for all three of us, but I know time will just fly by, unfortunately. With only 18 days left until we leave, extensive preparations are being taken care of and the last minute things are falling into place. Packing is being done, passports are still in the mail (John), courses are being for, and mental preparation is happening. The date is fast approaching and John, Shawn, and I are scared, ecstatic, nervous, and excited all at the same time, for what God holds in our future!!!
